Storytelling in your Fundraising
March 25, 2020
8:30 am – 12:00 pm
Valley Venture Mentors
276 Bridge Street, Springfield, MA 01103
You’ve heard the mantra a hundred times. “Be sure you tell a story in your fundraising appeals.” And yet, when we’re faced with the pressure of getting that appeal out the door, many of us all fall back on reporting about our organization, making a desperate plea for funding, or highlighting the crisis we are in.
This session will take a deep dive into the critical importance of using storytelling to increase the impact of your donor relations, not just in written form but also in major donor relations. Using data on giving trends, as well as important lessons in what makes a story stick, this session will give you practical tips for improving engagement with your supporters. Participants will spend an hour of the session writing their own appeal letter using the tools from the workshop.
This workshop is designed for development staff, executive directors, board members, and marketing staff.
Stories are one of the most dynamic ways we connect with each other. Stories help us empathize. It’s powerful when we relate to the characters, and share in their emotions; stories can make us laugh or cry, and can motivate us to take action.
There are skills that can make you a better storyteller. Join Rainmaker Consulting for Storytelling in your Fundraising to learn how to be a great storyteller.
We hope you’ll join us, because we’d love to hear your story!
