The Impact on an Organization’s Mindset and Results of Creating a Culture of Philanthropy
For the last several years, I have been privileged to be able to work with Mark Shapiro, the CEO of the Harry and Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center in Milwaukee, as he and his team have built a Culture of Philanthropy. Full disclosure, we shifted quickly from the relationship of me as the consultant for his agency, to a partnership. Mark has become a leader in Culture of Philanthropy teaching and training to his staff, board members and greater community. I learn from him as much as he learns from me.
My new book, Choose Abundance, is full of anecdotes and lessons from the field. Many of them are from the work that Mark has done with his team at the JCC. One story that Mark shares in Choose Abundance is about a donor and the gift of an orchid. I hope that you purchase and enjoy the book, which will be available to purchase soon. I think it’s perfectly serendipitous that our first edition shipment of books traveled around the world on a Container Ship from China called ‘Cosco Shipping Orchid’.
Enjoy this video where Mark talks about the powerful impact that this work has had on his JCC.
